If you're thinking of buying a home, you'll want to carefully choose the real estate professional to work with you during the process.
You should commit yourself to working with one sales associate who can learn your likes and dislikes in homes to make your process easier. Choose a professional who has specific knowledge of the area. The person you choose should listen to you and be interested enough in you to find out your housing needs and preferences.
The 1st thing you should do before beginning your search is to check your credit rating. If you need assistance in this, you're realtor should be able to point you in the right direction. Having a preapproval in hand makes you a stronger buyer. Being preapproved will also speed up the process once you've found the home you want.
Once you've made an offer on a home that is accepted by the seller, you will need to schedule a home inspection. It is extremely important to have a home inspection to get you familiar with your new home you're purchasing.
After the home inspection, your lender will hire an appraisal to be done on the home.
Lenders will also require a 1 year homeowners insurance binder to be paid for up front before you close. Once these list of things are complete you'll be on your way to closing on you're new home.
